Message

Last night

I was lying on the rooftop,

thinking of you.

I saw a special star,

and summoned her

to take you a message…

Rumi

My paintings are most often influenced  by dreams, poetry and music. When something touches me, it paints a picture in my mind. And I can’t rest until I create an interpretation. This part of the poem made me reminiscent of thinking of people who I haven’t seen for a while. I feel the swirl of emotion and awe while looking at the night sky and hope they feel as blessed as I do for happy memories.

I hope it reminds you of happy memories too.

It’s in the Show!

Please come out to see my mixed media painting, “Hanging Out the Stars”, at the Marietta Cobb  Museum of Art this Friday, January 16th from 7pm until 9pm.  This event is sponsored by the Red Door Gallery and is a fundraiser for children’s art programs
