Message

Last night

I was lying on the rooftop,

thinking of you.

I saw a special star,

and summoned her

to take you a message…

Rumi

My paintings are most often influenced  by dreams, poetry and music. When something touches me, it paints a picture in my mind. And I can’t rest until I create an interpretation. This part of the poem made me reminiscent of thinking of people who I haven’t seen for a while. I feel the swirl of emotion and awe while looking at the night sky and hope they feel as blessed as I do for happy memories.

I hope it reminds you of happy memories too.

It’s in the Show!

Please come out to see my mixed media painting, “Hanging Out the Stars”, at the Marietta Cobb ¬†Museum of Art this Friday, January 16th from 7pm until 9pm.¬† This event is sponsored by the Red Door Gallery and is a fundraiser for children’s art programs
